Contribution
The communities in which we operate
provide the resources, infrastructure and
markets that support our businesses. It is
to our mutual benefit and responsibility to
seek enhancing them.
A key element to a strong engagement
with local communities is to understand
their expectations and needs. We are
looking to further enhance our community
engagement programme, and, therefore
we have analysed our 2011 and 2012
activities:
• To identify where our contributions
were going and to analyse the public
benefits from our activities.
• To define the needs of the
communities where we operate and to
better orient our activities to support
specific causes.
• To develop an action plans and
engagement programmes for all hotels
to apply.
In 2012, 96% of our hotels have
participated in operations with
implemented local community
engagement. The number of activities has
more than doubled from 84 in 2011 to
195 in 2012 and focused on the following
areas:
