Message from President & CEO
At Rotana, as we continue on our
stated path of expanding our portfolio,
venturing into new territories and further
consolidating our position as the leading
hotel management company in the region,
we need to be mindful of the impact we
make on our communities’ lives.
With growth also comes responsibility
– a responsibility to our guests,
colleagues, stakeholders and the various
communities that we operate and live
in. As we continue to create a world
of opportunities for them, they are
also looking at us as much more than a
company that offers a good night’s rest.
They are looking for a meaningful purpose
and value – for themselves and their
communities.
We understand that to make that
difference, we need to build on trust.
As the world around us continues to
evolve, we must continue to build trust
with our partners by demonstrating an
unwavering commitment to responsible
business practices. While it is not easy,
we must nevertheless persevere and
demonstrate our positive impact on our
local communities and the environment,
developing meaningful ways to report on
that progress. Though we pride ourselves
on being transparent and authentic in our
approach, we must also be willing to make
significant changes that make a positive
difference in people’s lives.
As you read through this inaugural issue
of our sustainability report, you will see
the progress we have made these past
few years. It also highlights how we have
teamed up with our various stakeholders –
suppliers, non-governmental organisations
and education institutions, to name a few.
All of this so we can team up together and
find solutions to some of the most critical
challenges that we face today.
Our people continue to make us proud,
showing their commitment to our core
values while demonstrating that doing the
right thing makes good business sense.
Moving forward, we are stepping up our
efforts with an understanding that to
create a more sustainable and responsible
business. We need to be in it for the long
run. And we are.
